There are many components that have to work together in order to start your engine and keep it running. Your car’s timing belt is just one of these, but it plays a large role in your ability to safely drive.
Essentially, your timing belt is a very strong, toothed rubber belt that keeps your engine running correctly as it links several components together that manage the engine. Because the timing belt undergoes so much stress every day, it’s no surprise that it will require replacement at some point. Generally, the grooves or the teeth will wear down, causing your engine to ultimately misfire at points.
