Auto Suspension Repairs

Ready for Smooth, Safe Driving?

A car’s suspension is another area that often goes to the wayside with the average driver. Like anything else on your vehicle, general wear and tear accompanied by piling the miles on will take a toll on your shocks.

There are a few things that you should be on the lookout for when it comes to your suspension. Noticing these signs early can even save you on repair costs down the line.

Rough Drives
Your suspension should absorb all of those bumps in the road, even tiny ones that you may not even register. If you are driving down a primarily flat road and feel like you are bobbing up and down more than usual, your shocks should be looked at.

Difficulty with Turns& Stops
When you make a turn, it should be smooth and without issue. Any kind of tugging or drifting you feel is a sign that your shocks are failing to keep your car level. Braking may also be affected; you should not notice your car dip down when you stop.

Bounce Test
Before bringing your car in, you can try this test at your home. When your car is parked, use your weight and lean down on the front of the vehicle. Then, bounce it a couple of times and remove your weight. Next, repeat this process on the back of your car. If you see the car bouncing more than two or three times after you removed yourself from the front of back or the car, your suspension is likely weakening.
